Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist Pressure: Firm

Biographical Info

Jason is a licensed massage therapist and Certified Neuromuscular Therapist who loves using his knowledge to help facilitate functional movement. He specializes in referred pain and range of motion issues due to accident, injury, or repetitive motion. He also works on athletes with performance goals.

Growing up, sports were a big part of his life and being a top-level athlete gave him insight into what the body can do along with first-hand experience of how injury and pain can hold us back. It also gave him the chance to experience what physical therapy and soft tissue manipulation could do to relieve pain and promote functionality. These experiences also gave him understanding when communicating with a client about a pain they were experiencing.

Jason went into the roofing industry for 13 years. Working his way up from being a laborer to eventually becoming a regional director overseeing multiple large industrial projects at a time. Working up to 90 hour weeks around over-stressed people in a dog-eat-dog environment he knew he did not want to do this forever. He often said he was going to quit his job and go do massage. He finally decided to go visit a massage school and fell in love with the environment immediately. Everyone was happy, friendly, and in a good mood. He knew from the beginning that he wanted to focus more with injury massage. Early into his program he heard an instructor talking about neuromuscular therapy. He then knew that was what he wanted to do.

After graduating he took a job at a day spa to gain some experience while at the same time working as a teaching assistant at the school he graduated from. It was at this time that he learned how much he enjoyed teaching as well. He then found a chiropractor he aligned with and began his private practice within the chiropractic office. In that environment he was able to fully focus his talents towards neuromuscular work, and it inspired him to pursue his Neuromuscular Therapy certification with Judith DeLany. It was about this time that Jason was given an opportunity to also work as an instructor at a school that was opening a new campus in the Phoenix area. He taught kinesiology, NMT, facilitated stretching, and neuro re-education, and continues to teach there today.

Jason provides Certified Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports Massage at The Neuromuscular Studio, with a specialty of treating thoracic outlet, whiplash, lower back pain, hip pain, and athletic injury treatment and prevention. He loves treating traditional martial artists and MMA fighters, as well as rock climbers, and professional athletes.
